📋 Rider Information – 2025 Vern McClelland Omnium 📋

📍 Venue: Preston Park Velodrome, Brighton
🕢 Sign-on: Opens 8:30am
🚴 Racing starts promptly at 9:00am

🔄 Race Format

  • Each rider will compete in three races:

    1. Scratch Race

    2. Elimination Race

    3. Points Race

  • Hare & Hounds Handicap with primes every 3rd lap (sponsored by TrueWheels) will finish the day – this race is not part of the omnium scoring, but primes will have cash prizes.

🏆 Omnium Scoring

  • Your results from the Scratch, Elimination and Points Race will count towards your overall Omnium points tally.

  • In the Points Race, only sprint points you score in the race will be added to your Omnium total.

    • ⚠️ If you do not score any sprint points, you will not receive any points for that race.

👩 Women & Girls Categories

  • Ladies will race within the open categories, but there will be separate podiums for best-placed Ladies and Girls in the Omnium overall.

💷 Prizes

  • Just under £1000 in the prize pot across the day.

  • Cash prizes for:

    • Top 3 in each race

    • Top 3 in each category Omnium overall

    • Ladies’ and Girls’ Omnium podiums

    • Most combative rider

    • Rider showing best spirit

    • Hare & Hounds prime winners (every 3rd lap)

  • All prizes will be awarded at the end of the day after the Hare & Hounds Handicap.
