Week 3 - Changes to Block Handicap

We’re rolling into Week 3, and the racing is only getting hotter! 🔥
This Wednesday, we're bringing a full menu of action: Scratch, Win and Out, Points, and the much-anticipated return of the 6-Lap Block Handicap — now with brand new rules! 👀

Here’s what’s on the race card:

🔹 Scratch Races – Get the legs warm and the lungs burning.
🔹 Win and Out – Sprint smart or sprint alone! The first rider across the line takes the win — everyone else keeps going until it's all settled.
🔹 Points Races – It’s all about tactics, timing, and those crucial sprint laps (2, 4, and 6 for seniors).
🔹 Block Handicap (New Format!) – A fresh twist on a fan favorite.

🚨 New Handicap Rules – Here’s How It Works:

All categories (A, B, and C) race together, but start at different points around the track based on their category.

🟢 Whoever crosses the finish line first wins — simple.
No post-race adjustments, no time calculations.

🏆 The twist: The category of the winning rider gets the biggest points payout:

  • Their riders score 10,9,8 etc.

  • The other two categories score 6, 5, 4, etc.

👉 Example:
If a Category B rider wins overall, then:

  • All B riders earn points from 10 down

  • A and C riders earn from 6 down

💡 Why the change?

  • Encourages teamwork within categories

  • Makes the racing more tactical

  • Keeps it fair, fast, and fun for everyone

So whether you're off the front or hanging on, there’s strategy in every pedal stroke.

As always, big thanks to our volunteers and supporters (and Edie — never stop baking! 🙌🍰).
We can’t wait to see you trackside this Wednesday. Come for the racing, stay for the chaos.
