Sussex Cycle Racing League holds meetings at Preston Park, Brighton every Wednesday evening from April to August. See news below regarding plans for the 2016 season
Preston Park Track Closed In 2014 British Cycling declared the track unsafe. This meant that no racing could take place and there were restrictions on training. British Cycling held negotiations with Brighton and Hove council and, following a very successful local campaign spearheaded by the SCRL committee and the Save Preston Park Track group, replacement of the fence around the track commenced in early 2016. Currently the planned date for completion of these works is 18th April but there is an expected overrun so weare planning to hold our first evening on the 18th May. However these dates are yet to be confirmed.
Once racing restart we will face increased costs and therefore have reluctantly had to increase entry fees this year as well as raise the registration fee to £5.
Full details of these and the registration process to be published once we have more concrete dates.
Due to the uncertainty over dates plans to run an early season open meeting to mark the re-opening have been shelved in favour of an event later in the year.
